“At some point, you will have disputes because the client is going to argue that the freelancer didn’t comply with the work as they expected. So how do you deal with this? One option is for you and your founding team, to make a team to handle disputes but the problem this is not your core business. You don’t want to be dealing with disputes. You want to be growing your marketplace. And also it’s not decentralized in the end. When the eBay system resolves disputes they are not really impartial. The company wants to maximize revenue and probably, in the end, lean on the side of the user that makes more revenue for the company. It’s not very credible. What if you could just outsource your disputes to Kleros. Kleros will select a jury to analyze the dispute. They’re going to see the evidence, see the agreement between parties, and they’re going to make a decision about who is right. Kleros informs you of the decision – enforced by the smart contract … this is one example of the freelancer. But imagine all of these platforms that connect to Kleros and send disputes and Kleros sends back decisions. This is why we call it “Decentralized Court” for the Web3 ecosystem.” – Federico Ast, co-founder of Kleros
